“Crookston House was built by my family, the Borthwick’s, in 1816 and it has remained in the family’s ownership since then. My husband, Malcolm, and I moved here in 2014, when we took over the running of the house from my parents, John and Adelaide. They now live in an apartment on the lower ground floor, and you are likely to bump into them gardening if you spend time in the grounds! Our two boys, Fred and Will, a menage of dogs, a ginger cat and a brood of hens, who provide your breakfast eggs, may also introduce themselves to you at some point during your stay.”

Our glamping huts are the latest addition to the Crookston House & Estate offering. These are located adjacent to the grounds of the house and consist of two bespoke shepherd’s huts, The Resting House and Hodge Cairn, each separate and secluded and enjoying wonderful views out over the stunning surrounding countryside.
